Fundraising Achievements

  • Created the Global Dialogue Initiative in collaboration with an Israel based philanthropist. The initiative brings together philanthropists who use the practice of dialogue to achieve their objectives in areas such as conflict resolution, peacebuilding and community cohesion.

  • Supported the development of the Synergos Climate Collaborative Community which is a forum for philanthropists interested in taking climate action, ultimately receiving funding from the Rockefeller Foundation.

  • Developed and implemented philanthropy strategies at Help for Heroes, Prince’s Trust International and the Elton John AIDS Foundation.

  • Establishment of a regular giving club called ‘Friends of Help for Heroes’ which for the first time created long term relationships with the tens of thousands of donors that enabled Help for Heroes to start from nothing in 2007 to become the leading military charity in the UK.

  • Developed an industry development board from the Internet and Media sector working in partnership with Silver Lake, a leading technology private equity firm which continues to contribute £1million a year for The Prince’s Trust and includes companies such as Google, Facebook and LinkedIn.

  • Enabled the Elton John AIDS Foundation to grow its event income through the development of a cultivation strategy which identified untapped supporters and targeted involvement from trustees and patrons

  • Undertook a comprehensive review of the private sector operation at Victim Support as it transitioned away from dependence on public sector commissioning resulting from a change in Government funding.

  • Created and delivered a seed funding strategy for Prince’s Trust International, a new charity to take The Prince’s Trust youth model overseas. This included creating a Founding Patrons scheme to invest in the new charity enabling it to have the funds in place to pay operational costs within its first year.

  • Brought together regional fundraising teams for The Prince’s Trust which improved efficiencies and led to a wholesale re-organisation of the charity’s national structure.

  • Led the early stage funding of the Queen's Commonwealth Trust (QCT), a charity established in recognition of Her Majesty The Queen's lifetime of service to the Commonwealth and her unwavering belief in young people and their power to make positive change. This funding enabled the QCT to create an organisational structure and start grant-giving. Prince Harry has now become the President of the QCT.

  • Undertook a strategy review of fundraising at The Prince's Countryside Fund, the rural and faming charity of HRH The Prince of Wales. This led to the appointment of a new Head of Fundraising to drive forward a corporate and major donor focussed fundraising strategy.

  • Has provided consulting services to charities including Nacro, Classics for All, Mission Motorsport, Youth United Foundation and Leonard Cheshire, and also for private foundations including the Chelsea Barracks Foundation and the Bernard Lewis Family Charitable Trust.

  • Created a new fundraising structure at Help for Heroes which enabled the charity to widen its focus towards corporate and major donors, as well as streamlining supporter care functions whilst not reducing its appeal which made the charity a huge success. This improvement helped the charity to increase its income after a couple of years of decline.

  • Widened the pool of high net worth donors at the Elton John AIDS Foundation through a strategy of cultivation lunches and dinners, bringing the work of the charity closer to its donor base. This yielded a large increase in income and support at the charity’s annual dinner held at the home of Sir Elton John and David Furnish.

  • Supported major donor fundraising team at Shelter understand the Moves Management process of major donor cultivation.

  • Advised sales representatives at high end jeweller Boodles on customer acquisition and retention strategies using methods gleaned from the charitable sector.
